I am invited to a ritual dinner for two days from now, and I have been asked to provide a Sinhala translation for the following sentences. Wondering if anyone here can help me out.
Why is this night different from all other nights?
On all other nights we eat all kinds of bread or (unleavened bread), why do we eat only (unleavened bread) tonight?
On all other nights we eat any kinds of vegetables, why do we eat bitter herbs, tonight?
On all other nights we don't usually dip one food into another, why tonight - twice?
On all other nights we eat either sitting or leaning, why do we lean on a pillow tonight?
these questions are part of a recitation at a Jewish Seder, and our hosts are asking us to bring translations from our countries of origin. My father was Sri Lankan, but I haven't spoken Sinhala since I was 6 years old, and I am ashamed to say that I remember nothing!! Hoping to learn here, though! It's such a beautiful language
thanks in advance-
