To my knowledge there is no "W" alphabet letter in sinhalese and neither is there the "WAH" or "WA" sound.

I discovered this when I attempted to write my brother Joshua's name in sinhalese, after asking my mum and dad(both sinhalese) they told me that it doesnt exist and the sinhalese version of Joshua is pronounced "JOSHUVA" instead of "JOSHUWA"

I wasn't surprised infact...

But I also know that the sinhalese alphabet, and sounds that the educated board has set aside for school students is so minute compared to the COMPLETE ALPHABET of the language and im inclined to think that the "WA" sound infact does exist, perhaps someone here knows.
