The verb (simple) One of the most important parts of a sentence is the verb. It tells you what is happening and contains the action of the sentence. We want to start with some simple explations of the verb. To keep it simple we talk about "colloquial sinhala", which is the spoken, more simplified version, of sinhala. Most verbs in all tenses which are present end with "-nava", independent of the person as well. This type of verb can even be used in the spoken language for the future tense. You can use "kanava" for the present ( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() = you are eating fast) and also for the future (You will eat fast).
